Advantages of Invisalign® over Traditional Braces

When your teeth become misaligned, it’s a terrible experience. Not only does it make cleaning your teeth an uphill task, it also takes a toll on your self-confidence and makes you very self-conscious. Furthermore, if left unchecked, your teeth will be at risk of contracting periodontal disease, which is not what your dentist wants to find!

Secondly, once installed, conventional metal braces have to remain permanently in place until they are professionally removed. Invisalign® braces, however, can be removed at any time, allowing you to remove them briefly, especially when you need to eat or drink. Isn’t that a big relief?

Invisalign® definitely trumps metal braces in the comfort department too. Metal braces contain wires with protruding metal bits that can puncture the inside of your mouth and gums or scratch them. It’s not uncommon for those who wear metal braces to complain about the pain or discomfort. Invisalign® does not pose such a problem at all.

Lastly, metal brace wearers expect their treatment to take as long as tw0 years but Invisalign® users take anywhere from between one year to a one and a half for it to work its magic and straighten your teeth.

It’s clear that Invisalign® offers quite obvious advantages over conventional metal braces. Yes, it costs a bit more, but think of the benefits and the comfort that comes attached.  You get a beautiful smile faster!
